    Job Description

    In Strategic Weapons Systems Engineering, Department 430, the Simulation and Test group has a strong focus on developing systems to support the development and qualification of control systems. The group develops custom simulators which model the behavior of ship systems to support the fleet training, and custom test boxes used for ship system qualification.


    As a member of this team, the selected candidate will be responsible for simulators and emulators used in the development and qualification of tactical control systems.  In addition, the selected candidate will support formal documents such as drawings, wiring diagrams, user manuals, etc. This position requires work with PLC, Simulink, LabVIEW, and embedded real-time systems.  Most systems being worked are developed by our department in a collaborative environment; therefore, the candidate must be able to work in a team.  Additionally, the selected candidate will be responsible for mentoring other engineers, as well as recommend and implement process improvement initiates, as appropriate. 

    Education/ Experience

    Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

    1. BS in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering (other compatible degrees will also be considered)
    2. Seven years of engineering experience


    Candidates with the following qualifications will be given preference:

    1. MS/ME in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering
    2. Current DOD Secret clearance or higher required
    3. Experience with real-time systems development
    4. Experience with PLC
    5. Experience with Simulink
    6. Experience with LabVIEW
    7. Experience with Systems Engineering
    8. DOORS experience
    9. Continuous improvement mindset


    • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
    • Ability to work alone and in a team
