    Job Description

    Main Machinery Propulsor Engineer is dedicated to providing high quality and efficient engineering and design services to both the Navy Propulsor Team and the shipyard in support of design development, fabrication and installation of the GFE propulsor for VIRGINIA and Columbia Class submarine programs.

    Education/ Experience

    Required:

    BS in Engineering. 

     

    0-5 years of engineering experience required.

     

    Preferred:

     

    Mechanical, civil or aeronautical preferred with a background in structural analysis and/or finite element analysis methods.

    Skills

    Duties include performing engineering calculations in support of design development, evaluation of fabrication and installation issues, and preparation of written engineering procedures and dispositions in support of shipyard installation efforts.  The individual must have a strong proficiency in all facets of engineering principles. The individual should have the ability read and interpret engineering drawings and procedures. 

                                                       

    This position requires strong verbal, writing, and interpersonal skills with frequent interaction with Design and Analysis groups. Engineers must work well with all levels of engineering, trades, trade management, and the Navy Propulsor Team.  Candidate must be a detail oriented and highly motivated team player. Occasional travel may be required.
