Department 489 - Ohio Replacement Main Propulsion Motor Drive - Responsible for the design, manufacture, test, and delivery of the main propulsion drive for the state-of-the-art electric drive propulsion system on COLUMBIA Class. Basic requirements include development and analysis of control and power systems including: requirements development, supplier management, and analysis using MATLAB and SIMULINK. Power systems, including power electronics or motor design experience is preferred. Ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills to allow close communication of technical issues with Customers and Electric Boat management. Frequent travel to the supplier’s facility is required to participate in the supplier’s factory acceptance and qualification testing.
BS in Engineering is required.
BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering is preferred.
