    This position resolves technical problems on fluid, mechanical systems and components for delivered submarines. Analyze designs in support of shipboard modifications. Specific technical areas include: compressible (gas) and incompressible (water, oil) fluid systems, HVAC systems, operating mechanisms, statics, dynamics and conventional hand calculations. Duties include; however, are not limited to: performing calculations, selection of material and equipment and preparing technical reports. Some travel may be required. 

     

    Education/ Experience

    Required:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in either mechanical or aerospace engineering.
    • 0 – 4 years of experience.
    • Knowledge of fluid systems, mechanisms and strength of materials is necessary.
    • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.

     

    Preferred:

    • Previous marine, shipyard and or Navy experience is a plus.
    • Good communication (written and oral) and organizational skills are desired.
