The D426 Electrical Hull Penetration group - Responsible for the design and development of Electrical Hull Fitting and outboard cable assemblies. Duties will require the candidate to interface with other system engineers to develop electrical penetration data lists. Candidate will be required to develop electrical and fiber optic hull fitting designs based upon system and SUBSAFE requirements. Candidate will be required to perform ship SUBSAFE design reviews for electrical penetrations. Additionally, candidate will be required to develop cable specifications, molding procedures for outboard cable assemblies and develop outboard pressure proof electrical components designed to withstand ocean submergence environment. Candidate will be required to support arrangement and drawing development of both internal and external cableways. Candidate will also be required to provide construction engineering support on site as required.
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Required: Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Preferred: 2 to 10 years experience. Background in the design and construction of electrical cable, fiber optic cable and electrical hull fittings. Experience with polymers (polyurethane, neoprene) and molding process is a plus.
Candidates must be highly motivated, work independently and willing to interact with other engineering disciplines, vendors and the design community. The candidate shall possess strong written and oral communication skills.
